New Zealand has announced that they will end its coronavirus lockdown after recording zero active cases.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the country had ‘united in unprecedented ways to crush the virus’.
Health authorities reported on Monday that the country’s only active case, a woman in her 50’s, recorded no symptoms for 48 hours before being announced as recovered at St. Margaret’s Hospital and Rest Home in Auckland.
Health authorities also confirmed no new cases for 17 days straight.
